Southwest Hills
Neighborhood Overview:
The Southwest Hills area, like its neighbors Portland Heights and Healy Heights, is located in Portland’s West Hills on the Tualatin Mountain Range. True to all areas in Portland’s West Hills, this neighborhood features amazing views of five mountains and the cityscape, ample parks, access to walking trails and a commute to downtown that simply takes a few minutes. The Southwest Hills neighborhood borders well-known Council Crest Park and is primarily an upscale residential district of mostly single family homes with no commercial ventures in the area. Homes in the Southwest Hills are historic homes built in revival styles including English cottage, tudor and colonial, on larger lots surrounded by mature trees and landscaping with breathtaking views. Many of the winding streets are very narrow as they were originally developed in the early 1900’s out of a necessity rather than planning, adding to the charm of the gracious homes overlooking downtown and the mountains to the east.
