The Portland Heights neighborhood is a part of the highly desirable Southwest Hills of Portland. The Southwest Hills boast amazing mountain and cityscape views, ample parks, access to walking trails and a commute to downtown that simply takes a few minutes. Portland Heights is primarily an upscale residential neighborhood of mostly single family homes. There are very few commercial ventures in Portland Heights and only one eatery (Vista Spring café) which has been serving the residents for over 20 years. Ainsworth Elementary School is a central fixture in the neighborhood. Many homes in Portland Heights are historic homes built in revival styles including English cottage, tudor and colonial, on larger lots surrounded by mature trees and landscaping with breathtaking views. At the time of its development, Portland Heights attracted many of Portland’s top architects. Portland Heights is filled with unique, charming homes on winding streets overlooking downtown and the mountains to the east.
