Goose Hollow
Neighborhood Overview:
The Goose Hollow neighborhood is an extension of downtown Portland. It is one of the most densely populated neighborhoods in Portland so its difficult to imagine that it began as a suburb with a pond surrounded by family farms – thus the name Goose Hollow. In recent years Goose Hollow has garnered less attention than areas like the Pearl and the South Waterfront but it should not be overlooked. Criss-crossed by the MAX line it offers the convenience of mass transit as well as a focus on a pedestrian lifestyle. Goose Hollow is home to PGE Park, Lincoln High School, the Multnomah Athletic Club and is just across I-405 from Portland State University and just a few blocks from Washington Park. Also not to be missed is the Goose Hollow Inn, a pub started by a Portland icon – former mayor Bud Clark. Residents of Goose Hollow make their homes in a mix of condos, townhomes, apartments and a sprinkling of historic single family homes.
